Wystawa jest elementem szerszej akcji mającej na celu przywrócenie pamięci o nich i o ich dorobku.To bezcenny polski dorobek kulturowy, który przywracamy odbiorcom w Polsce po latach zapomnienia. Twórcy, których przywołujemy, zaliczani byli do grona artystów wyklętych - to idea przyświecająca realizacji całego projektu realizowanego przez Towarzystwo Projektów Edukacyjnych.
W ramach projektu powstał i został wydany album Artyści Andersa, film dokumentalny pod tym samym tytułem, zaplanowano też stworzenie wirtualnego muzeum i wystawy multimedialnej . Spuściznę artystów Andersa przez wiele lat badali i dokumentowali historycy sztuki pod kierownictwem prof. Jana Sienkiewicza. Profesor, który był gościem otwarcia wystawy w Łazienkach Królewskich, jest też autorem albumu „Artyści Andersa”. Poświęcił on 30 lat pracy naukowej, by zebrać i udokumentować dorobek artystów generała Andersa.
